We’ve just updated ANZ Internet Banking with some great new features based on the feedback from customers. The enhancements help make ANZ Internet Banking easier and simpler to use - here’s an overview of the main changes you’ll see:

-

Simpler payments whether you’re paying a bill or paying a person, all payments can now be made from the ‘Pay & transfer’ menu. You no longer have to choose between one-off or bill payments, so it's simpler and faster.

You can use 'Pay a person or a bill' to pay a single saved payee or someone new,

 New Pay & Transfer menu

and 'Pay a group or several payees' to pay up to 20 saved payees at a time.

And for added peace of mind, you can now print or save your payment details for your records.

-

Easier Funds Transfer we've introduced a ‘Funds Transfer’ panel so you can now transfer funds between your accounts from any page.

If you need more detail about your accounts or use one logon for both your personal and business accounts you can use the 'Transfer Funds' page under the 'Pay & Transfer' menu.

-

Your account balances on every page your account balances are now listed down the side of each page so you can always see them at a glance and you can easily hide them by clicking the up arrow.

What about immediate payments between ANZ accounts?

We know that immediate payments between ANZ accounts is a feature that is important to you, so we are working on this for later this year. We appreciate your patience while we make the technical changes required.

We're also working on a number of other improvements based on feedback from our customers, including:

being able to future date a funds transfer between your accounts,

allowing you to reorder your accounts,

and improving how you set up Automatic Payments.

- so watch this space!

Thank you for choosing to bank with ANZ.

Hi, I have just switched to ANZ from Kiwibank. I am really pleased to be back with you lovely, very capable people after many years with other banks. One thing I will definitely miss from Kiwibank Internet banking, is the ability to increase / decrease my credit card balance myself. When we are working at bringing down our credit card balance it is really helpful to be able to reduce the limit with each monthly payment. Also the kiwibank internet banking website just appears to much simpler and easier to use. cheers

I wonder if it would be poeeible to provide an editable line on the statment so I can edit a transaction after I have made it?

Under the old ANZ Internet Banking before the merger you could stop and then recommence re-occuring payments to anyone in your payee list, I see under the 'new' internet banking I can no longer set up reoccuring paymments from SELECTING existing information on my PAYEE list, I have to set up a new Automatic Paymnet. This is really annoying. Please bring back the OLD ANZ internet banking with much better functionality that what we have now.

One facility that would be great is to have a 'make note' facility on each line on our statements, real time, without having to download the transactions into a separate spreadsheet. Then I could make a quick note on each line item in my online statement - just for my purposes. Thanks for the great facility, this is just an idea for the next round of changes. Cheers

NEW Instant transfer? . . . most banks have had this for some time (including old ANZ). Can't transfer to large businesses until after 10pm?. . . . come on ANZ, this kind of stuff is what has been happening since last century with other banks. It must have been a mistake transferring to such a legacy platform as the one National Bank used - so much to fix to make it even 'old school' service.

URGENTLY need the facility for immediate payments between ANZ accounts- any ANZ account holder included. Also needs to be reinstated for phone banking. We consider this a very poor show by ANZ.

On previous anz internet banking site I was able to print out a report on Bank fees and interest i had paid or had paid to me. This appears to have dissappeared was very handy for supplying annual report to accountant on company and trust accounts. Is this gone for good

It would help if future payments could be set up for more than 3 months inadvance. If you know you are going to be making a regular payment for the next year it would be handy to be able to set a payment up as such.

Good improvements, but your new (post-National Bank merger) system is still not as good as your excellent earlier system. Via \"Manage Payees\" we can now view a list of our payees and we can delete and add payees. However, there appears to be no way of editing the payee name, account number, particulars, code or reference (other than by deleting each payee and then adding him again with the required changes, a laborious and inefficient method.) Please advise how I can edit the saved information for each payee more quickly and efficiently, as was the case with the old system. If there is presently no simple way of editing the info for each payee, please update the system ASAP to enable this essential and frequently-required function.

It is disappointing that payments are not deducted from my balance as I process them. For instance a payment (transfer) scheduled for the 7th is still included in my available balance today the 8th. Same can be said for my direct debit scheduled to be paid today which is still included in my avail funds. Frustrating and a step back from your previous online banking service.

One backward step is having to input details each time you want to transfer money overseas, rather than having the details of the recipient as a payee. It slows the whole process down for the customer. I see no valid reason for this.

In general; a good site to navigate. 2 things. (1) Would be good if the time out message pops up on a different page you are working on e.g. sometimes I'm working on an excel spreadsheet and when I go back to the bank screen it's already timed out. (2) Would be good if you received an email from the bank when you have insuffient funds when bill payments are scheduled to go out. My understanding that three attempts are made and after the third attempt the payment cancels because of insuffiennt funds. A warning email after the second attempt would be useful so that appropriate action can be taken.

being able to edit payee's would be brillant, also you need to be able to select previous day for your transaction, previous day is available in the business direct link version so why not on the personal version.

your update is fine, but now that you have re-amended the printing format i'm printing two pages all the time, the second page only has a disclaimer on it, you need to revisit exactly what needs to be printed to make a cleaner report.

Hello one thing I am not happy about is. Before I could pay a bill on the same day i asked it to be paid. Now it has to wait until 10pm that night. This is a backward step. I pay a person fornightly but I cannot see that account anymore? I have always been happy with National and just seeing how ANZ go.

I like the fact that you can now delete a payment after you have made it as it doesn't go out untill 10pm,this is handy if you pay from the wrong account or ,as in my case, two of my children have the same first inital, one works for us the other doesn't so twice we have paid the wrong one!!
ANZ Internet Banking Team | Friday 05 April 2013
Hi Paremata1, when we moved ANZ customers onto the National Bank systems we kept the same processing times for payments as National Bank had. When you make a payment for the same day, the money is withdrawn from your account however the payment is not processed until 10 pm. You can choose to cancel the payment up to 10 pm. To view your automatic payments, go to the Pay & transfer menu and select View upcoming payments.

Great stuff. Thanks Paul ps In the next release you could allow the viewed .pdf transfer record to be saved manually so it can be renamed and saved in a chosen location.

As I emailed you before - this very annoying box has stayed around too long. I note the BNZ on their website gives users the option to view new features OR not to, and when the decision is made the first time that is the end of the annoying pop up boxes - can I suggest you look at the BNZ's website Please publish this rating, and I've already emailed you about this box, but contrary to what your help desk person said it didn't go when he promised it would.

Glad you finally realised what a great system National bank had, they had the easy pay and ability to put in details which made for informative banking. Well done. for the record, I was both ANZ and national customer, before the recent enrapturement of the two banks!

I'm sorry i find this new format for my o/seas banking not very convenient , trying to correct my address details - tells you can put( For any fields you do not need, please enter 'n/a'. )where not applicable but still asks you for info and so will not go past . I also would like to know the interest rate that is currently applied to my accounts - no where under account details where one would expect is there this information.

These internet updates are fine, getting use to the online banking. What I'm not happy with is the phone banking, I was once able to transfer money to my children by phone and it was there for them stright away, now it takes over night. The adds on tv say the best of both, this is a step back, lets get it back to same day service

Not being able to transfer funds overnight on a weekend or public holiday is a big step backwards. It takes the point out of online banking if it closes when the banks close. It's not as if the computers care what day of the week it is. Very unimpressed that some of my bills will be late his weekend because I was not advised in advance of this aspect of your 'improvements'.

I could not make a one off payment to pay for a product from trademe. I spent 40 mins trying things going round and round, and finally went to my kiwi bank and done it in about 3 mins easily. This system should be simple for everybody, but in my opinion it is not. Iv been using the old way easily for years but now it is a mission that I can't get my head round :-(

This upgrade is horrible and extremely annoying. I can't turn it off so every time i go to online banking there's notes all over my screen, in the way of what i want to be looking at. You have a button to close the notes but the next day they are back again!!! Why don't you ask people if they want a change and let them choose, like national bank used too, then if they don't want to change they can say no.

I have a mac computer ( don't know if this makes any difference), when I email the PDF doc produced following a payment, and then try to open it, computer states the file is damaged and cannot be opened either on a mac or PC. this is using mac reader or Adobe. This is a major frustration and compromising my records. Can this be fixed or is it a problem at my end?Would be easier if it was a word document

Reply 0 people like this

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Thursday 28 March 2013
Hi stephen, does the PDF open ok on your Mac before you email it? If so, it sounds like it is an issue with how the file is being emailed. We chose PDF as this is the most common format used in these situations and it is more ideal for printing.

We are a couple of pensioners so are computer skills are not the quickest or sharpest and it would be appreciated if a user manual is produced in a printed booklet format. We could have this along side us for reference as we learn and progress through the internet banking system. I know you will say it is available on the net but flicking back and forth through the computer while trying to find our way through the banking system is not as easy as having a manual open at the appropriate page in front of you.

Reply 0 people like this

Hi Francis, you can make recurring payments by setting up an automatic payment. You can do this by going to the Pay & transfer menu and selecting Set up an automatic payment. You can read more about this here: https://apps.anz.co.nz/internet-banking-help/set-up-automatic-payment.aspx. You need to manually enter in the payee's account number. We know this isn't the easiest way to do this and it can be better so we will be working on this in a future update.
Caro | Wednesday 27 March 2013

Your information sounds exciting and clear but until my old brain starts using it I won't know if it is as good as it sounds. I am looking forward to it. I specially like the sound of it being easier to change from paying bills & payees for example and then switching to transferring money. I will give it a go.

Chris | Wednesday 27 March 2013

It all works beautifully. EXCEPT that for payments, it doesn't allow me enough characters to enter the whole of the payee's name, or to enter the reference numbers I've been given by the payee to identify the payment. This is such a problem that I have sometimes had to resort to posting cheques instead of doing online payments!

I agree with Rhonda. I want to pay some bills by PoLipay, but the Agencies are not available through ANZ bank. The fees for paying NZTA for car registration are huge if paid at a post-shop or by cheque. Therefore Polipay would be most useful. The NZTA will not send out their account number. 4 days ago I sent the bank an email through my log-in, but still have not received a reply.

Regarding International Bank Transfers: Your new system requires I enter the destination bank (USA) details each time. I cannot save this information for a future transfer. This increases the chance of errors in this information. You said this new requirement is due to security, which I can understand. Is there any way I can save this information so I do not need to re-enter these long numbers and addresses each time I transfer funds to the USA. Your comments would be appreciated.

How do i make regular fortnightly payments from my account to a payee

Reply 0 people like this

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Tuesday 26 March 2013
Hi Steve, you can do this by setting up an automatic payment. You can read more about this here: https://apps.anz.co.nz/internet-banking-help/set-up-automatic-payment.aspx. You need to manually enter in the payee's account number. We know this isn't the easiest way to do this and it can be better so we will be working on this in a future update.
New ANZ Customer | Saturday 23 March 2013

This doesn't work for me. I go to select payee and nothing happens (Firefox, and on a Mac). Also, really irritating that I can't set up an automatic payment and select a payee that I've already added. I have to type all the details in again. Nor do you have the facility to select a company that is already added to the ANZ. You are also unable to see scheduled Direct Debits. And \"real time\" banking doesn't appear to happen - not even when transferring between ANZ accounts. And ANZ seems to have some seriously strange stuff happening with Visa payments. It \"holds\" the money, then releases it a few days later, then pays it to the vendor. Weird. No other bank does this (its happened on several occasions). Makes paying Vodafone or TradeMe by Visa etc a right pain etc. Could accidentally go overdrawn if not careful. None of the above was a problem with Kiwibank. Used to be able to do all of the above with Kiwibank. Tempted to change back as finding this really frustrating.

Hi New ANZ Customer, we recommend you update Firefox to the latest version and try this again. We understand that automatic payments can be improved and we plan to do this in a future update. We will look into what we can do to show Direct Debits loaded on your accounts and we are working on immediate payments between ANZ accounts for later this year. We will look into the issue you've raised about credit card payments.

Hurry up (!!) so I can future date a transfer between my accounts - I miss this function from the old ANZ internet site and do not like having to transfer money early into low interest accounts to cover payments. Any chance you'll reinstate the old 'past payments' feature - Great to be able to see all the payments in one place, not trawling through individual bank accounts to see if it went through etc. Thanks

Good to see some changes taking place. Obviously the former ANZ system had some advantages not available in the NBNZ system. The one I find most annoying is not being able to future date transfers between accounts, so roll on this change a.s.a.p. please. Then youmight get an \"A\". For now \"B\"

Hi Nat Bank customer, the pop-up currently works using cookies so as long as you have cookies enabled, once you've dismissed the message on your computer or device, it shouldn't show again. We plan on improving this in a future update so that it doesn't rely on cookies.

It is very good congratulations changing details of each payment is a real plus as coding can change for the same payee. Makes banklink easier.
