We’ve just updated ANZ Internet Banking with more great new features based on the feedback from customers. The enhancements help make ANZ Internet Banking easier and simpler to use - here’s an overview of the main changes you’ll see:

-

Pay friends, family, or businesses who bank with ANZ immediately  we know this is something you've been asking for, and now it's here! Got friends, family or a business that also bank with ANZ? You can now make payments to other ANZ accounts* immediately when using the 'Pay a person or a bill' option.
Please note immediate payments to ANZ accounts are not available through the 'Pay a group or several payees' option, or through ANZ goMoney.

-

Re-order your accounts – view your accounts in the order you like. You can have your most used account listed first and your least used last by re-arranging the order your accounts appear.

Other enhancements we've made:

Stop receiving your paper statements if you have an account with an overdraft or home loan flexi facility.

-

We've changed to a bigger and clearer font, making Internet Banking easier for you to read.

Let us know what you think

When you log out of ANZ Internet Banking, there will be a link to our survey. Please let us know what you think of the improvements and what else you want to see in your Internet Banking.

More information

Don’t forget you can also view step by step guides explaining how to bank online by clicking on the Help icon within ANZ Internet Banking.

What other changes are coming soon?

We're also working on a number of other improvements based on feedback from our customers, including:

being able to future date a funds transfer between your accounts,

and improving how you set up Automatic Payments.

- so watch this space!

Thank you for banking with ANZ.

* The following four bill accounts will continue to receive their payments after 10pm on the business day, due to the number of payments made to them: Vodafone, Telecom New Zealand, Farmers and AMI Insurance.

Like the changes, keep 'em coming!! A couple of requests/suggestions - I'd find it REALLY helpful if I could filter, say display only deposits (or only withdrawals) for this account over specified period. (It would also be useful to search on all payments made to xxx payee over specified date range).

I really wish you would save the viewing period that the transactions of each account are displayed over. The default period of the last 15 days is useless for keeping track of things like rent and monthly expense payments and it's a real pain having to keep typing in a more useful date range like the last 3 months. In fact, why not make the default period the last 3 months? There is no negative effects to having a longer page since those who only want to view the last 15 days just don't have to scroll any further down.

Hi Ed, thanks for your feedback. We understand that it isn't a one-size fits all when it comes to viewing your information in Internet Banking and we are planning on updating how you view and search your transactions next year. Part of this update will be adding the ability to save your preferred options. We will review our current default period for a future update.
Tony | Saturday 22 June 2013

Improvement are very welcome, THANK YOU. It would be appreciated if you could fast track the ability to future date transfer between my accounts. At the moment, if I know I will not have access to the internet on the day funds need to be transfered, I have to either transfer them early, or arrange a bill payment for the previous working day... such a nuisance, LOL. When this facility does become available, will it be treated as an \"instant\" transfer on the specified date, or will it be processed at the end of the day, as a bill payment? Many thanks.

Reply 0 people like this

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Monday 24 June 2013
Hi Tony, thanks for your comments. We are still working through how future dated funds transfers will work. However, at this stage it is most likely that it will be processed after 10 pm, just like a future dated bill payment. We will let you know how they work on-screen as you make the transfer and when we communicate the update.

I found it very hard to read letters & figures in the accounts examples above - they were very small & a bit blurry. Re your recently advertised change to having monthly statements on-line only instead of posting by mail might be very difficult for those without computer access. Are you allowing them to receive printed copies?

Reply 0 people like this

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Friday 21 June 2013
Hi Barge, customers who aren't registered for Internet Banking will continue to receive their paper statements. Paper statements can be turned back on by calling our Contact Centre or visiting a branch, as well as within Internet Banking.
R W & M R Smith | Thursday 20 June 2013

We still like to receive our paper statements every month. This helps us with our end-of-year books to send to Accountant. It is good that transferring money to other ANZ bankees can be done the same day.

Sandra | Thursday 20 June 2013

Could you please make it possible to change payee bank account numbers without having to delete and re-enter. I find this annoying as people change suffixes or accounts at times and there is the danger of having a person in twice with 2 accounts and not knowing which one is right as has happened to me on more than one occasion

Thanks for your feedback Sandra. We know being able to change saved payees is a feature quite a few of our customers want and we will be looking into this for a future update.

Is it possible to print off statements - then I wouldn't need to get the paper statements sent to us.

Hi Cameron Trust, you can access your statements in Internet Banking by going to the statements tab under your account details (this shows your last six statements), or by going to Message & Documents in the main menu and choosing the 'Document Library' You can read more about this here: https://apps.anz.co.nz/internet-banking-help/document-library.aspx

Hi Krystal, yes it will be transferred and made available immediately.
Stewart | Wednesday 19 June 2013

I found this update misleading, I have just paid my ANZ Mastercard via internet banking but note the payment will not be proccessed immediately, despite the claim that all payments to ANZ accounts are paid immediately (with the exception of the four accounts listed.)>

Reply 0 people like this

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Wednesday 19 June 2013
Hi Stewart, if you make a payment to your ANZ credit card using a saved payee then this won't be immediate as these payments go to a clearing account and are applied to the card itself overnight. If you want to make an immediate payment to your credit card you can do this by going to the Pay & Transfer menu and selecting \"Funds Transfer\".

these are good things. What I really want is a feature that used to exist before ANZ amalgamated with National. when making a transfer from one account to another it can only be done on the same day. Please add a date option like there used to be so it is possible to plan for holidays, plan in advance.m The lack of this feature does not make sense and is extremely inconvenient.

No different to any of the others. A big mess with no advantages. Other banks have been doing what you can do now long ago. Simple basics would be far better, useful and user friendly. I have asked for a simple Print of on line accounts, a simple exercise used by other banks. I still do not see this, so see not point of feedback or any action as a result

Manna | Monday 17 June 2013

The bigger font is excellent. Also being able to download statements for the last year or more is a much appreciated service. The one problem that remains for me personally is that , with all the technological advances available, we still have to wait until Tuesday for any transactions which were made after 8pm on Friday to appear on our statements. This is good for the banks but not good for the customer. 3 days out of a week waiting for confirmation on transactions is a lot.

Hi Manna, we understand the need to provide more immediate processing of payments and we are working on sending payments to other banks throughout the weekdays to make this quicker. In the longer term we want to be able to process your payments on weekends as well.

I think this is awesome you guys are making these improvements which allows customers to organise their accounts in the order they like to use them in (such as myself) and also it is great the font and size can be changed for elderly and even younger adults who struggle to read small text. I think that Te Reo Maaori should be incorporated as a Language option for the ATM, I like using that option when I come across the bank that has it although I do try only withdraw from my ANZ bank's ATM. Keep listening to peoples suggestions:) and thank you for allowing customers to suggest their ideas and give their views, Kind regards, Hautai:)

Richard | Monday 17 June 2013

What a disappointment! I suppose that re-ordering your accounts list might be relevant to those who have dozens of accounts, but not many others. What I have been asking for, for many years, is that the account listing is shown in ascending date order - for ease of cross-checking against any ledger-type listing. Even better would be for a user to lock in a preference for ascending/descending order. At present, I have to reset the order every time I view another account page. VERY tedious.

Wends | Sunday 16 June 2013

Thanks for listening to requests and allowing reordering of accounts! It would be great if all electronic payments could go through faster. When purchasing online, the company will only send the goods when payment is received. Due to banking delays, shipping is often delayed by 3 days over a weekend- this is a real nuisance when you have funds in your account, have set up payment and need the goods urgently Also a \"search\" function, to check for a specific transaction would be wonderful. At the end of each account statement, it would be nice if the arrows went to the next date range, not to the next account Thanks again for implementing several of my suggestions so far- much appreciated! Its getting better all the time and its great that the ANZ seems to be responsive to requests now :)

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Monday 17 June 2013
Hi Wends, thanks for your comments. We are working on improving how we make payments to other banks so that they are processed throughout the day, but this won't include weekends at this stage. We want to provide this in the future, it will just take us a while to get there. Alternatively, you could use a credit or debit card to make your payments. You can read more about our debit card here: http://www.anz.co.nz/personal/accounts/everyday-banking/visa-debit-card/ and credit cards here: https://onlinestore.anz.co.nz/tools/compare-credit-cards. We will be working on improving our transaction history next year, including allowing you to search your transactions and will look at improving how you navigate date ranges. Thanks!

Good improvements keep it up. When we have one off payments are we able to do them without saving to the payee list as I have to go back and delete it. Is it possible (or I haven't found it) as well as viewing the payments from each account which is go but have the option to view all payment from selected accounts so a payment that I don't remember which account it came from can be found in one list? Cheers Guys and Gals.

Hi Steve, thanks for your feedback. When you are making a one-off payment you just need to make sure the 'Save these details' box isn't ticked before clicking 'Next'. This should be unticked by default. You can read more about this on Step 5 of our Internet Banking help page for Pay a person or a a bill: https://apps.anz.co.nz/internet-banking-help/pay-person-or-bill.aspx. We will look into how we can improve accessing your past payments in Internet Banking.

I have to say I am very pleased with all the changes you have made . There is only one defect that I wish you would change and that is this: When exporting transactions can they please be in the same date sequence as a printed bank statement. Oldest at top. latest at the end. And also hopefully with sums expressed as 0000.00 . That is showing the amount also as it appears on a bank statement. And payments as debits and deposits as credits. That would save a huge amount of time rearranging a spread sheet before sending the data into a ledger.

ANZ Internet Banking Team | Monday 17 June 2013
Hi Dennis, thanks for letting us know. We will be updating our transaction history page next year to allow you to save your preferences on how transactions are displayed, so we will look into this then. Transactions in Internet Banking are constantly updated so our default view needs to support this, where as a bank statement is a fixed snapshot in time. However, we will look into how we can align these more.
Gee Cee | Sunday 16 June 2013

One great idea implemented ( Pay friends, family, or businesses who bank with ANZ immediately ), and another ( being able to future date a funds transfer between your accounts ) to follow soon. It is very heartening to see that good feedback is acted upon . This sort of response has been sadly lacking in most organisations for a very long time . Thank you ANZ and lets hope you set the benchmark for others to follow. Gee Cee

Hi Long time coming, we do have options to link your trust and business accounts in ANZ Internet Banking if you are the sole signatory. If they are multiple signatory accounts, we also have our ANZ Direct Online service. Your Business Banking Manager can discuss these options with you.
Stephen | Sunday 16 June 2013

Can you increase the number of payees available to each user,it seems to be limited which is a pain. We are a small business and we most probably need say 100. Some of our suppliers we may only use once or twice a year so we have to delete and existing payee to use I.B. to pay them, then delete them and re enter the deleted payee.

Hi Stephen, you can have up to 960 payees in ANZ Internet Banking so this shouldn't be a problem. If you can't add more payees, please give us a call on 0800 269 296 and we will look into this for you.

Hi John, we don't have a dedicated form for ordering a cheque book in Internet Banking, however you can send us a Bank Mail message and we arrange this for you.

Hi Happy about the pay other ANZ, thanks for your feedback. We are currently working on providing foreign currency account details in ANZ Internet Banking, aiming for October/November this year. We will let you know more closer to this time. We know our customers want to see more of the products and services they have with us in Internet Banking and we are working towards this goal.
